One of the leading exponents of graphics in the 60s and 70s, he was born in Gioia del Colle but moved to Milan in 1967. He started his activity as a self-taught graphic designer and photographer in Bari since 1951, taking care of the image of the Laterza publishing house .

He has illustrious collaborations in the field of publishing with Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti, Umberto Eco and Leonardo Sinisgalli. In 1964 for Eni he carried out a large photo / ethnological survey on the landscape, houses and popular rites of Lucania.

For years he has been a consultant for Rai, Italsider, INA Assicurazioni, Cee, Montedison, Coni, Alitalia and the publishing houses Vallecchi, Feltrinelli and Einaudi. He taught “graphic design” in the early seventies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari.

In 1981 he was a teacher of “coordinated image and signage” at the ISIA in Urbino and, from 1985 to 1994, at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Turin and Cagliari. Since 1980 member of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and honorary member of AIAP (Italian Association of Design for Visual Communication).
